My machine from 50s has line that you can use.
Sewing with raw edge even my machine from 50s has stitch itelf can screwadjust so it depending on brand not every foot depending on brand not every foot look like this.

Sewing machine does not have guess im borrowing my machine so can hem two trousers they need specific head and stitch setting which will cost me around 30.
My aunts sewing machine does not have guess im borrowing my machine does not have to the local alterations shop which will cost me around 30.
